We started out headed to Morro Bay, but when we realized that the annual car show was in town, we opted to head a bit further south to Avila Beach. It was a beautiful day! We had lunch at Custom House restaurant which is always delicious! Joshua and Dominic were well behaved (for the most part), and Matthew ate the entire time. Mommy had fun trying to eat with her right hand and not spill food down the front of her.
From there we headed out to the pier. The boys were both anxious to walk all the way to the end to see the ocean. Unfortunately, once we had reached the water underneath us, Dominic panicked. He walked on each plank of the pier one foot at a time and finally requested that I pick him up and walk him back to nana. Joshua decided he would go for a second attempt so he and I walked out to the end. The Fire Department was conducting lifeguard training so we were able to observe them rescuing a "dummy" out of the ocean. It was actually pretty neat. We ended our trip at the ice cream shop - YUM!

Yes, we did, indeed, have a great time! Never enough time to do all the things we want, though! We'll definitely plan an "up close and personal" trip to the beach again soon, Joshua, complete with sand pails and shovels!
