We finished our San Diego vacation with a second trip to Legoland, which included a trip to the Sea Life aquarium. I’ve decided that Legoland does not employee the most intelligent people as they forgot to charge us the $40 admission fee into the aquarium. Oh well. I presume they made enough money off of us this week that they could afford to honor free admission for us. We met the Mazur family (sans Jill) at the front gate and began our adventure. I’ll tell you what, after chasing four kids around the park all day, we were all exhausted. We took in the Bob the Builder 4-D show which was a treat. Although we did not ride all too many rides today, the boys (and Noelle and Michael) enjoyed each others company, and ran out all their energy in the multitude of play structures. Dominic braved the fierce Dragon rollercoaster and asked to ride it again – fancy that!
The aquarium was fantastic! I’ve never seen so many underwater creatures in one place! The boys enjoyed the hands-on exhibits along with the scavenger hunt that taught them all about sea animals. Matthew even tried his hand at touching the starfish. We decided to eat dinner in tonight and chose several ½ off items off of the hotel menu. I returned to the room early with Matthew as he is under the weather and now seems to have contracted the ever-popular Pink Eye (thanks to his big brother Dominic). Thank goodness we remembered to pack a myriad of medicine, including medicated eye drops, so that we can treat this yuck before we get home.
We will awaken early tomorrow, pack the car, and hit the road by 9am so we can be home mid day. Keep your fingers crossed that the car ride is a smooth one and that the boys are entertained for the entire trip.
Jim's favorite room in the aquarium. The tank wrapped around the entire room.
