Tigers, and Monkeys, and Kangaroos, oh my!

Yes, we took a trip to the local Charles Paddock Zoo on Sunday for a Spring roll out event. Although there are not that many exciting animals (as you can tell in my post title), we always enjoy a trip to the zoo. As members, we can go as often as we like and we receive invites to special events. This weekend was one of them. The zoo was welcoming Spring and raising money to complete their amphibian exhibit. They had several activities and we even won the raffle prize - a huge green stuffed frog!! Our friends Cynthia and Daniel joined us for the trip and we all enjoyed the fresh air, great weather, and all the animals. We especially enjoyed meeting the newest members of the Charles Paddock family; the Red River Hogs.

The boys and I enjoyed coloring and Joshua had a snake tattooed on his forearm. All four boys enjoyed feeding the goats! Cynthia and I sampled some Organic chocolate from a local candy maker.....and neither of us will ever do that again. It was called Organic Fair Trade chocolate and let me just say that any candy with the word Chai in it is probably not worth trying. Cynthia took one bite and spit it into the bushes. The plain semi-sweet chocolate wasn't all that bad, but it clearly lacked the appeal of a Hershey's Dark Chocolate Bar.
